Smart home solutions are making our households smarter day by day. An integral part of such solutions is the Home automation and Internet of Things (IoT). Imagine a situation where all the gadgets for day to day use are to be controlled by controllers and not by humans. Autopilot support for gadgets like washer/dryer, refrigerators can save manual effort to monitor and turn these on/off. Electrical gadgets like heater can be controlled through a closed loop control circuit where power feed can be routed through a thyristor-controlled logic with gate signal triggered through a sensing logic. In some cases, this can act as a secondary layer of protection where a geyser is to be protected against overheating by using a similar solution, external to the geyser casing, where the geyser can be turned on/off automatically without loading the thermostat.Â
